XX Equality Parade cancelled. Read the statement.

Dear All,

It is with profound sadness and heartache that we have decided to cancel this year’s Equality Parade.

Although our volunteers gave their everything towards preparing this wonderful celebration of equality, love, and acceptance, at this stage our top priority is the safety and wellbeing of everyone participating in the Parade. As per the government-issued recommendations and guidelines, the 20th Equality Parade cannot take place in the nearest future.

At the same time, we want to reassure you that our daily strivings for equality are far from over. In this difficult time, we strongly believe in togetherness, even if it has to be at a distance. We have no doubt that things will get better soon and our 20th Equality Parade – the greatest one yet – will make its way through the streets of Warsaw. Until then we will carefully monitor the actions of the authorities and, together with other organizations, ensure that our rights, including the right to assembly, are respected.

We may be stuck in our homes, but together we’re still strong and we’re still sending the rainbow out into the world!

Stay healthy!
